Trustees of the Fulton Public Library are elected by a public vote held in conjunction with the Fulton City School District Budget vote in May. Vacancies will be announced on our website, social media, and via email. See below for more information about current or anticipated vacancies, and how to begin the process.
Current Vacancies for 2023
There are 2 seats available on the Fulton Public Library Board of Trustees, beginning July 1, 2023. Term lengths are 5 years. You must be a resident of the Fulton City School District in order to qualify and turn in a Petition with 25 signatures. (Download Petition Form below)
Library Trustee Petitions are available at the Fulton Public Library at 160 South 1st St. Fulton, NY, or can be downloaded below.
In order to pick up a petition at the Fulton Public Library, please call 315-592-5159 Monday and Friday 9 AM – 5 PM, Tuesday through Thursday 9 AM – 6 PM, or Saturday 9 AM – 1 PM.
Petitions must be returned to the Fulton Public Library by 6 PM on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
I have 25 signatures…what next?
Bring them to the library Tuesday, April 25th by 6:00 pm. Candidate names will be sent to the Fulton City School District (order of names is randomly drawn). Names will appear on the ballot during the Budget vote on May 16, 2023 and the new trustees will be determined by the 2 with the most votes. The library will contact you for further information if you are going to be filling a vacant seat.
