Program Details
Thanks to the generous support of the Literacy Coalition of Oswego County and United Way of Greater Oswego County, Fulton Public Library is proud to be part of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library—a FREE program that provides books to children from birth until their fifth birthday, available to families regardless of their income. This early literacy initiative encourages parents/guardians and children to read together and share the love of reading!
Each month, a high-quality and age-appropriate book will be mailed in your child’s name directly to their home. They can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
Who Is Eligible?
All children under the age of five in Oswego County.
What Are My Responsibilities?
1. Submit an official registration form, with phone number and email address, filled out by the parent or guardian. Forms are available at Fulton Public Library or enroll online here.
2. Notify United Way of Greater Oswego County any time your address changes.* Books are mailed to the address listed on the registration form. If the child’s address changes, you must contact United Way at 315-593-1900, ext. 5, or email iloc@oswegounitedway.org. *If the new address is outside of Oswego County, the child will transfer to another affiliation’s program if available or will be removed from the program.
3. Read with your child!
When Will I Receive Books?
Within eight to ten weeks after your registration form has been received.
How Can I Help?
Do you know a preschool child in Oswego County who is not receiving books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library? Give their parents/guardians a brochure and registration form, and encourage them to fill it out or enroll online. Telling them about this FREE program can make a huge difference in their future and the future of our community.
